Geomatics Nigeria Limited was incorporated in Nigeria with Registration number RC 246064 dated 3rd May, 1994. It is a Nigerian consultancy firm with 75% Nigerian ownership while our Canadian affiliates own the remaining 25%. The company’s head office is located at Plot 7, Road 302, Off DPC Road, Agodi GRA, Ibadan, Oyo State and it is immediately next to the Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker’s official residence. The company was established to transfer technology on resource mapping, application of Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing in solving environmental management problems from the parent Canadian companies to Nigeria and West Africa.

It presently has employees at four office locations in Nigeria (Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and Abuja), and it has plans to grow rapidly to other locations in West Africa. Most of its employees are trained both in Nigeria and overseas. The company is developing as a centre of excellence in environmental management, water resources, forestry, land use management and social-economic analysis, expanding technical capabilities in order to serve clients better.

GNL is an accredited consultant with African Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank (IBRD) and the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) of Nigeria (now Federal Ministry of Environment, FMEnv). GNL has been registered with the Department of Petroleum Resources since 1997 and has been working with FEPA (now FMEnv) since 1994. GNL professional staff includes Ecologists, Hydrogeologists, GIS Specialists, Remote Sensing Experts, Environmental Economists, Database Administrators and Developers, Engineers, and other professionals with applicable skills and experience in the transport sector (particularly in the rail sector), and environmental management consulting.
